Montessori Upper Elementary Certificate (ages 9-12)

Students taking this level must have completed all methods courses in the Lower Elementary certificate either at Westminster or in another MACTE-approved program.  Students who have already completed a year’s supervised practicum as part of their Lower Elementary certificate do not need to repeat the practicum as part of the Upper Elementary level.  Students who have not yet completed a year’s supervised practicum in an elementary classroom will do that as part of the Upper Elementary program.

Students who have not already completed a teaching practicum in an Elementary Montessori classroom (ages 6-12) will take the following courses during the school year following the summer courses.  Students who have already completed an Elementary teaching practicum will take four additional credit hours of electives.
